First my father (65, retired as a Dentist) was diagnosed with a brain disorder called PSP a few months ago and today he underwent an ultrasound for a suspect prostate problem and guess what the doctors found besides a swollen prostate - his left kidney is missing !!! It seems he was born with just one.

I am totally amazed at this. He was the most active person I have met in my life, all his life he had his morning/ evening jogs, did massive time of Yoga...even today he carries on and to think that he did all this on one kidney is amazing. Whatever I could see online, it seems that its chances are about 1 in 1000, so not so uncommom but of all people my father !! PSP was bad enough.

I hate to see him withering away with PSP already. His balance is shaky, he can't see down properly, he has gone virtually silent (as he stumbles for word) but still he can outwalk me anyday (he still does 5-6 kms per day). Life is such a bitch.

sorry. I only have one kidney too it seems. I had a sonagram 2 years ago and it and the urinary tract were undectable. the term is agenisis, which means it never grew. You are ok to live with one, but if it goes, goodbye

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I read up a little on PSP since I never heard of it. Does really suck although not fatal they don't have a cure for it. Hopefully, you can help him cope with it. I hope they're able to cure his prostate problem with medication.

I actually have a thread in the Vaginarium about erotic medical exams from 2 years ago where I mentioned it. Now watch some n00b bump it back up.
