Never had it done myself but my ex girlfriend did.. she said it hurts like you wouldn't believe at first but the pain fairly quickly goes away. Only thing is there is a good chance of infection if your not careful so bear that in mind.

I've never had mine done. I had my tongue pierced and that was a pain factor of about a 5 outta 10. I have heard nipples hurt more than a tongue piercing, especially when the guys you work with find out and give you a "titty-twister".

dude...seriously...I had mine done a couple years ago...it was a trade off, but we won't get into that...
one of my female friends had hers done a few weeks before I got mine done, and the first thing she told me was "the first one doesn't hurt, but the second one hurts like a bastard." I get to the piercing studio and I wait my turn *at the same time getting a pretty kick ass show* so she does the first one, and it didn't hurt all that bad, no worse than when I got my tongue done. It burned, but it wasn't unbearable. The second one lit my ass up. On top of that, her hand slipped or something when she was trying to put the ball in the hoop, and tore a little bit of the flesh OWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
we made a beer run directly after, and I was standing with my shoulders slumped forward trying to keep my shirt off my chest, it was hurting pretty good. I got back to my room, and the same female friend from before feeds me full of vicodin's, so it wasn't that bad after that, just bled like a bastard.
and to clarify, I have a pretty decent threshold for pain. What really sucks is when you like get a necklace hung on one, and then try to stand up...you'll sit right back down quicker than you stood up. And if a nice cold breeze hits you, be prepared for teh pain, cause hard nips kinda hurt.
all that said, Im most likely gonna get mine done again soon, prolly after I shed this winter weight.

Would it be anything that smoking a bowl wouldnt cure? I got teh tongue pierced already and I could handle that (although it was unpleasant).

dude...toke on up...I don't see how it wouldn't cure it...all the vicodin's I ate helped mine...
tongue wasn't shit, getting it done didn't hurt, it was the week after that sucked. Especially that first time you bite that bitch when you're trying to eat. I actually repierced my tongue in a hotel in Killeen, TX when I got back from overseas.

A few hours after I had mine done, I bit the bar which yanked my tongue up and kinda twisted it. Yup, I gave up trying to eat that night.

:werd: I made the mistake of eating Chunky Soup... needless to say, the thing wasn't tightened all the way and I ended up eating tongue ring too. :ugh: I wonder if that thing is still in my stomach. :dunno:

the piercer told me to wait a couple hours before I eat, and then make it something soft...so in my retarded ass logic, I think soft tacos...yeah, that didn't work too well. So from then on for the next week I was eating chicken and stars, and canned spaghetti :yumyum:

:werd: Right after I got mine done, I went and got ice cream. Well, my dumbass decided to get a cone. Not such a good idea. As i licked the ice cream, it left streaks of blood across the cone. :ugh:

A few hours after mine, I went to a promotion party. Since the grill was going and I was starving after only having ice pops, I decided I could chew a burger if I tore it up into little pieces and put them in the back - WRONG!

I've had mine done for about a year now, and it's been a pretty good experience.
When I got them done, I was so drunk I could barely see, so I don't remember any pain from the night. (All I've seen are videos of me whilst getting them done screaming "Fuckin pierce it you pussy!!" and other vulgar comments lol.
They were swelled for a couple days, and sore for around 1-2 weeks. I could mess around with them after about a week.
It's been pretty cool; the girlfriend loves em.

I had mine done before, and it's a bit of pain to be honest. If you're going to a shop with more than one piercer, see if they'll double team you. Both at once makes it a little better.

I'd consider myself somewhat of an expert on nipple-piercings.
Here's the saga:
1.
First time, I got both nips pierced with 14g horizontal CBR's. The little ringie thingies, with the ball at the bottom.
Swab-down with some cleaner crap, marked with little purple dots... Then clamps. FUCK Clamps, I hate them with a passion. This is by far the worst part of the experience.
Then the needle. The initial pain was quite sharp, and very shocking (but it was my first "professional" piercing). It took less than a second though, and sort of tingled and throbbed once the needle wasn't perforating my flesh anymore.
Removal of clamps. Immediately, blood rushes back into the nips, producing quite a rush of (discomfort? pain?) well, very tingly feelings.
Jewelry threaded in behind needle, as needle is drawn out. Odd sensation, maybe painful, maybe not. Done!
Next nip. The second one hurt as well, though I can't really say it hurt less or more. By now I knew what to expect, though, so the anticipation wasn't as intense.
The healing process was painful, and never completed. Every time I touched them, they hurt. I'd clean them, and within hours they were crusty and VERY sore all over again. I didn't know then, but they were infected.
Note: When you get pierced, PLEASE be sure your piercer autoclaves your jewelry, the clamps, anything that is going to be in contact with your fresh hole. Tell them to autoclave the gloves they wear, the toothpick they mark you with... Whatever. Also be sure they're using surgical-grade steel... The stuff intended to be used for metal plates to the head and such, they're designed to be compatible with the body.
I lost my first nipple rings within four weeks because my piercer used pig metal jewelry that wasn't cleaned properly. By "pig metal" I mean it was a mixture of metals, like steel or nickel or something. This type of jewelry is perfectly acceptable for WELL HEALED piercings, but is NOT good at all in fresh ones. And by "lost" I mean that the jewelry slowly moved closer and closer to the surface of the nipples, gradually my body pushed them right through the skin. One actually tore through, the other was removed but tore one edge. And suprisingly, they healed up like nothing ever happened.
****If you do have a bad piercing that gets infected and is oozing out pussy crap and hurts like a bitch, DO NOT just remove the jewelry. You've got a little tunnel of skin with infectious bacteria in your boob, and if you pull out the very thing that's keeping your tunnel open, guess what happens? The ends close off almost immediately, leaving horrible infectious crap inside your nip. Ew. Instead, I'd reccommend LOTS of warm-water salt-soaks (use sea salt without iodine and distilled or purified warm water, a cup, and invert over nipple for a LONG time.)... Keep soaking them until the redness and swelling goes away; if you don't want to deal with the pain and agony anymore, take them out - But ONLY once the swelling is gone and it doesn't hurt to touch.****
2.
So I had my first nip rings fall out. That sucked, and my boobies were naked.
Time to re-up. Went to another shop, and asked if I could get them pierced at a larger gauge. Thought perhaps the migration had something to do with the cheese-slicer effect (you know, thin metal wire used to cut cheese?). I wanted to get pierced at a 12, but they didn't feel comfortable doing that since they lacked the right length 12g barbells. So I got 14g barbells, with the intent to replace them with the 12g's once the initial swelling went down. I had them pierced in tandem (at the same time, by two different piercers). This was a glorious experience. The pain was even, they both hurt at the same time, and they were both over. I enjoy being pierced, the pain is so brief... But the endorphine rush afterwards is sweet!
These piercings were done with well-sanitized piercers and jewelry, healed in record time and didn't complain a bit when I changed the jewelry up a gauge six weeks later. I ended up removing them for a finicky (ex)spouse.
3.
So me and the old-fart hubby were no longer together, I wanted them again.
Went to a new shop, got someone to mark the old holes, autoclave my old jewelry... The first one hurt like a bitch, I had no idea why until I looked down. He had the needle going from the base of nip and aereola on one side, clear through the middle of the aereola on the other (= crooked and badly done). He pulled the needle back through, pulled off the clamps, ho'd and humm'd and replaced the clamps and re-pierced properly (OWWW!! Bastard!). The second one was a cake-walk compared to the first.
They did, however, heal quite nicely, being that they were done at 12g's. I was so excited to finally have them done the right way! They hurt no more than any other piercing during the healing process, despite the rough start. No redness, minimal swelling... NOT A BIT of soreness, and no oozies or crusties. Just normal bits of white blood cell leakage, and within no time they were fine.
I still have one of them.
(I had a lump in my breast and went to a military-based hospital to get it checked out. The dumbass squeezed the barely-pea-sized lump, looked at my pierced nipple and told me that was the problem. I took out the piercing six months ago, and now I have a Large Marble Sized lump in my breast. Piercing related or not, I have no idea. But the antibiotics I was given for "infected nipple piercing" did absolutely nothing for the lump. Besides that, I've seen many an infected piercing, and this was not one of them.)
Anyways, moral of story is, the pain of the piercing is only a split second or two. If you want it, get it. Just realize that many, many times the most painful part is when a little kid honks your boob on accident, or when the seatbelt comes slapping against it, or when you forget and yank on it with a towel, bath poof, or clothing... But all that horrible trauma usually only happens the first week after your pierced, after that you're good.
Good luck, let us know what you decide!
