made many. the compressed air ones and the cumbustable ones. the ooh and aaahs are bigger and a lot of times the power is a little more with the cumbustable one but the reliablity, rate of fire, cleaness, and safeness are definitly with the compressed air ones. what kind did you use? most likely the hairspray one right?

Ive made around 3 hairspray ones, never tried making compres.ones. Theyre fun, dip the potatos in disel before you launch and then shoot at night. Be careful but it looks sickk.

thats an awsome idea ill have to remember that! also im working on launching my water rockets out of it. ive figured how to get them to fire when they leave the canon. should very much improve performance

yeah i've made a 'hairspray' style one before.. tricked it out with an electronic spark system, and use ether instead of hairspray.. also used to smash apples in the end of the barrel to cut it to shape, then stick the apple in the freezer so it becomes rock hard.. could launch those suckers easily over a quarter mile...

Made them when I was younger. Used hair spray. Used to shoot potatos across the freeway. Never thought about compressed air or dipping them in diesel. I bet that does look pretty cool at night.

i think making a potato gun is like a rite of passage for atleast every teen boy if notevery teen period. lot of good things going on there too the physics and the fun make for an unforgetable bonding experience. everytime i come up with a new idea or test something i f my dads home i call him over to watch/help and he gets a kick out of it

this is my newest design for compressed air ones. its fairly straight forward construction and theres a few little steps to make it work but its very efficient. i made a modified one and it shoots extremely well and doesnt have the power this one would have. ill take a pic of the one i have and i will go further into construction if people want me to. its extremely safe consistant and reliable and my design can be adapted to virtually any size pipe and also can build the base gun with interchangable barrels which is what i use for the most fun with the least cost. lemme know what ya wanna know
