Is there a way to transfer the movies/T.V. programs that I have recorded on my DishNetwork DVR to my Toshiba Satellite Computer so I could then burn them to a DVD? Or in the alternative transfer the DVR programs directly to my external DVD burner?

If your comp has inputs for either s vid and audio or composite vidio you can .
otherwise record dvd with a inexpesive dvd recorder player in the playbackmode through the tv

You could always open up the PVR and remove the HD and connect it to your computer for downloading, then replace when done.

I don't think they made an easy way for use to 'download' our saved content.

Bojay has the best idea i'm afraid. Otherwise you can get the portable movie player dish offers. it's the only thing to connect to the usb.

right now the only easy way looks like the video out with a capture card route. tho on some forums some people are saying it saves as a linux type file. a few reported if you had linux you could play the vids off the external hd. btw its a 40$ fee to let them format one of your external hds. we just got the dvr so i havent needed to get the external hd. i think for 100 hours of std vid its a 120 gb hd. id love to put my 750 gb for it but i dont wanna dedicate the entire thing for it. ive heard that you can partition it tho.
